Protect our Lands and Environment

We need to act as stewards of our environment by fixing our roads and bridges, expanding our transit systems, and protecting our air and water for ourselves and generations to come.

A:
  • Support smart growth and development that protects the unique communities we’ve worked hard to build

  • Assist farmers, counties and municipalities in protection and preservation of valued farmland and open spaces

  • Support Lehigh Valley Planning Commission’s “FutureLV” plan to expand biking, walking and transit options

  • Reduce our carbon footprint and protect our environment and natural resources

In the 1970s Pennsylvania enacted the Clean and Green Program to preserve farmland and open spaces. However, over the years wealthy landowners have exploited loopholes to reduce their own tax bills, while placing a heavier burden on hardworking, middle-class taxpayers. My work as Slatington’s representative to the Northern Lehigh County Region’s Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan takes farmland and open space preservation into account when enhancing and revising our region’s goals.

We also need to invest in our local infrastructure and make sure we have leaders in Harrisburg that want to partner with municipal leaders to accomplish these local projects without raising taxes. We need to safeguard our environment by fixing our roads and bridges, expanding our transit systems, and protecting our air, water, and regional natural resources.
